How To Clean Wooden Door Handles

Generally speaking all you need is a little all purpose cleaner and a microfiber cleaning cloth or bar mop towel to clean.

Dip a rag in the water and use it to wipe down the handles. Clean around the edges. Open the wood door and use a clean damp cloth to wipe off the edges all around the door frame. Wipe the door handles to rinse the vinegar or lemon juice.

However for stuck on gunk or stubborn residue you can create a mixture of equal parts of olive oil and vinegar. Spray liberally on surfaces and wipe clean with a soft cleaning cloth. It looks gross and the only thing that will work would be to take a toothbrush and a cleaning agent and scrub off. Do not spray or immerse the hardware in liquid at any time.

The easiest and safest way to clean your stainless steel door hardware is to use a soapy damp soft cloth and then rinse with clean water. Dip a cleaning cloth in the mixture wipe a thin layer of the paste onto the hardware and let sit for 10 minutes. Submerge the items in lukewarm water and let them soak for a minute or two. Immediately dry all surfaces with a clean towel. Using water only wipe surfaces again to remove any detergent left behind. Once the handles are sanitized rinse them with clean water.

After you remove the hardware from the water move immediately to the next step without drying it. Gently wipe the surface of your door hardware with the mild soap and water mixture.
