How to hang a heavy cabinet on a wall.

How to hang a heavy hutch on the wall.

Start by drilling a hole about the size of the tip of the threaded anchor. Then take your power drill and drive the threaded anchor into the drywall just like you would with a normal screw. Consider hanging your stuff at eye level and mark off the chosen spot with a pencil or marker. There are also threaded wall anchors that screw into your wall.

Depending on what you are hanging the measurements can differ. You will need to drill a hole in your wall then hammer the wall anchor into the wall and insert the screw into the wall anchor. Hoist the hutch onto the wall and secure it by driving a few screws through the back of the hutch into wall studs. Wall cabinets come in a variety of shapes and sizes and are used to store and or display objects.

Because the cabinet is so heavy use three horizontal wood pieces. If you want a wall mounted desk lamp work with a licensed electrician to wire and install a junction box under the hutch. So make a small whole on both side of potential stud just to be sure. Make a mark on the wall where the bottom of the cabinet will be.

As with the expansion anchor drive it in until it sits flush with the drywall. Mark off where you will drill or nail your wall fastener. Take the doors off of the cabinet. Then the next step would be to add an extra piece of 12 mm plywood on top of your wall attached to the studs.

Wall cabinets are generally very heavy and additionally they often support a lot of weight. Using a measuring tape measure where you are hanging the stuff from. This will keep the cabinet in place without fear of it toppling. From there you can hang even very heavy cabinets with properly selected hangers.

Then screw the cabinet to the wall directly into the studs. Alternatively you can knock on the wall until you hear the solid sound of wood. For this reason it is imperative to hang wall cabinets correctly using builder standard methods. Traditional wall anchors are little plastic tubes that go into your wall before you use a screw to hang your heavy object.
